As the city of Toulouse embarks on large-scale transportation renovations, one big change will be the accessibility to the airport from the city centre.
It will soon be easier to access Toulouse’s Blagnac airport from the city due to a major public transport expansion project.
Toulouse transportation authorities are set to open a new tram line (Ligne Aéroport) connecting Toulouse-Blagnac airport with the city, with new images revealed of the planned network.
A couple of stops away from the airport on the new tramline will be the Blagnac transport hub, which connects passengers to the city Metro and tram system, allowing them to access central Toulouse and the surrounding areas.

The tramline will use existing infrastructure from the T2 tramway, and authorities expect to launch it by the end of 2026.

New Blagnac station
The new Blagnac station, which will be located between the stations of Ancely and Servanty Airbus, connects the airport tramline with the rest of the city network.
The new station will be a transport hub – if the below map does not load properly, you can see the image here.

The new Metro line C, which will pass through 21 stations, will also stop at the Blagnac station. It is expected to be inaugurated by 2028. You can see a 3D immersive view of what it will look like here.
The Blagnac station will also house two bus stops, as well as the T1 tramway and the new Ligne Aeroport.
Passengers will be able to get to the airport from Toulouse’s central SNCF station Gare Matabiau within 22 minutes, according to city transportation authorities.
What is the current situation?
As things stand, travellers can currently reach the airport via the Aero shuttle at Jean-Jaurès or Matabiau station. The journey takes approximately 25-40 minutes, and it costs €9.
Alternatively, the Journal Toulousian also recommends people take the Metro line A to Arènes station, then take the T1 tram to the ‘Paster-Mairie de Blagnac’ station, and finally board the bus 31 to the airport.

The latter option takes approximately 45 minutes, but it is covered under the price of a single transport ticket, which was €1.80 as of 2025.
Keep in mind that if you are visiting Toulouse – the T2 tramway has been out of commission since June 2023, due to work linked to construction for the future Blagnac station.
